Values
We used to have a saying at Adidas.
Cut me and I bleed three stripes.
Much is the same for personal values.
One of the most cathartic exercises you can try is to write a list of the behaviours that are most meaningful to you. Not necessarily what you are already achieving, but the person you aspire to be.
And then become that person, whole-heartedly and unapologetically.
This small act of self-leadership is extraordinarily powerful.
I have my list pinned up on the wall next to this laptop, duplicated 4 times, one for each column of my life plan (6 months, 1 year, 3 years, 5 years).
A personal coach, ensuring that I stay within my own guidelines, reminding me of my own potential.
We identify and work through personal values during our corporate workshops at Art Of Personal Best, building on the themes of identity and legacy.
Because if there was one thing I learnt from 30 years in business, is that you won’t be remembered for what you did, but the way you did it.
