Raise Your Hands To See Your Potential
The best way to show people their potential?
Simple. Ask them to raise their hands.
I do this at the very start of each of my workshops, and indeed every presentation I do, and the response is always the same.
100% of hands go up….
But only so far in the air, extended to about 3/4 or so.
Why is this? Tiredness? Anonymity? Herd mentality?
As I talked about in my last post, I define potential as, “existing in possibility”, and helping your teams reach their untapped potential is what we’re all about here at Art Of Personal Best.
So is it possible, I ask the audience, to reach even higher with your hands?
And further up they go, often extended with giggles of delight, laughter and smiles.
And that’s the difference between reaching to plan and reaching for potential.
As Maya Angelou wrote, people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.
For those reaching to the very top of their span when raising their hands, they could feel their potential all right.
